Accounting is one of the largest professional services markets on earth, and it's about to be rebuilt from the ground up.The winner won't be the team bolting AI onto someone else's APIs. It will be the team that owns the entire stack: the tooling, the data structure, and the agents that run on top. Whoever owns that stack becomes the wiring for how money is tracked and documented across the global economy.

That's what we're building at Maxed. We're stitching together the best open-source software in finance and accounting into a single AI-native operating system, then deploying AI agents on top to run the firm. Underneath the agents sits a proprietary training framework that doesn't exist anywhere else, which is why the agents get sharper and more accurate with every firm they touch. Because we own the tooling, we control the data structure. Because we control the data structure, the agents compound.

Design partners are live.We're hiring a founding engineer who wants to ship real agents, build the platform, and build the operating system the next generation of finance runs on.

Maxed is an AI-native, open-source operating system. The fragmented stack CPA firms run on today gets replaced with one platform, and the engineering work is making that one platform real.You'd be architecting how the open-source layer holds together - picking the specific models, evaluating the tools, stringing them into a coherent stack, wiring everything so it behaves like one product. We build on the open-source AI ecosystem heavily, and you'd be the one engineering how Maxed sits on top of it.

Then there's the context. Once a firm is on Maxed, an enormous amount of signal flows through one place. The engineering challenge is making sense of all of it in real time, feeding it to the agents, and surfacing the patterns that turn it into something the platform can actually act on. The deepest work sits here.

The AI layer is the rest: the agent architecture, the open-source model infrastructure underneath, and the training and feedback systems that make the whole platform run. That last part is where the real differentiation is, and it's something nobody else is doing.

And you'd be the founding engineer doing all of this. The work sits at the front of something the world hasn't seen yet - an entire industry getting rebuilt from the ground up. You'd be engineering at the cutting edge, architecting things nobody has architected before, and shipping the systems that will change the course of finance and accounting forever.

Most of what we're doing has no playbook. No precedent, no obvious right answer. You have to be the kind of person who finds that energizing.
